COVID-19 (Coronavirus); A statement from our Directors

We are working hard to bring brightness into your homes. Our excellent customer service will not be compromised. At the moment, some of our team are parents and will therefore be at home working hard to care for their children.

Whilst we have closed our retail showroom, we are still operational here in our super clean office in Minehead, Somerset. This enables us to keep our website as business as usual.

In uncertain times, it’s hard to know which businesses are affected; we are thankful to confirm that we are fully operational and can remain so for many months. We fully appreciate and acknowledged that we could not do this without our outstanding teams, along the entire supply chain.

We would also like to say thank you to you, our loyal customers, as without your support the world would indeed be a duller place.

We are following UK government guidelines and staying up to date with changes as they happen. I do want to take this opportunity to offer some clarity and assurances to shoppers.

Our products:

At The Lighting Company, we partner brands from all over the world that cover all sizes and scales of operations.

As a company, we have endeavoured to stock a high proportion of UK made lighting supplies. Some overseas companies we partner have closed following their government’s instruction. In these cases, we will temporarily make those items ‘out of stock’ to make this clear when you’re browsing.

However, this is moving fast, and stocks can sell out quickly. If an item goes out of stock before we have amended the website, we will let you know immediately. An alternative (if there is something comparative) may be offered for your consideration. If acceptable, we will substitute upon your instruction. If you decline this, we will refund in full.


Deliveries are free for orders over £50 to most UK postcodes excluding Highlands and Islands of the UK, we will not ship outside if the UK at all.

Our couriers are operating normally. They have made provisions that signatures will not be required during the Coronavirus, drivers will knock your door and move away leaving the parcel at your door. You can still purchase and have a delivery even if you are in isolation.


If you wish to return an item for any reason, normal terms and conditions apply. You can request a courier collect the item from you which would avoid you leaving your home however;

If you are having to self-isolate, due to the coronavirus, let us know in writing and we will offer an extension to the time between requesting a return to us receiving the item(s) back.

If this is the case, please email us to request your returns number in the normal way but let us know you are self-isolating due to the coronavirus and we will extend the time you have to get the item back to us to one calendar month in these exceptional circumstances.
