Creating The Perfect En-Suite For Your Master Bedroom.

Reflect the colours from your bedroom lighting and interiors within your en-suite bathroom to continue the flow of tranquillity throughout. The bathroom in our homes is one of the few places we could call a sanctuary. A lock on the door to shut out the outside world along with the unlikelihood that we won’t be checking our phones makes it a ready-made escape.

Don’t forget Lighting

Whether you have an en-suite with lots of natural bright light flooding in or it’s a darker space great lighting is always key to creating the best space in your home. Think about the ambience – a glaringly bright bathroom ceiling light is not going to induce relaxation. You want light that’s going to promote calmness.

Bathroom Lighting

Using an uplighter wall light to reflect the light off a white painted ceiling make a smaller en-suite feel much brighter. Keep to shiny chrome finishes as they make a bathroom feel brighter and stay clear from dull metal finishes they are better suited to larger spaces with more natural light.

Bathroom rated spot lights are a great choice for small compact en-suites as they can be fitted into tighter spaces, such as sloped ceilings. Spot lights are perfect for highlighting a feature or lighting up a larger space.

Bathroom Lights

Consider lighting either side, or above your bathroom mirror. A mirror offers great reflection which means the lights work twice as hard for you in this location.

Be Smart With Storage

Make sure your bathroom is clutter free, a tidy room is a tidy mind, a few cabinets or shelves can hold a surprisingly large amount. Maximise your space with towel ladders that are great for en-suite bathrooms as they barely take up any floor space. Tall ones can hold multiple towels and they are fairly inexpensive and easy to install. Radiators can also double up as towel rails and is a great way to add functional storage to the bathroom. Plus different options such as stone and glass are among the range of unique radiator options available which are not only energy efficient but also add a decorative touch to the bathroom.

Factor In A Gallery Wall

Your en-suite doesn’t have to be plain walls. Think about following on the theme from the bedroom into the bathroom with a feature wall filled with your favourite wall art that create a calming and relaxing space. A gallery wall in the bathroom can make your bathroom more personalised, give it character and tell a story. Choosing a layout you must consider the size of your bathroom. Usually en-suit bathrooms are smaller and more compact therefore, free form gallery layouts built around a statement piece in the middle is a great place to start. You could also lay the pieces out of the floor take a image for reference and then transfer to the wall when your happy.

Also think about creating a bold statement with wallpaper. The same pattern can be mirrored from the bedroom to the en-suite to create that transition from one room to the next.

Paint The Ceiling

If the walls of your en-suite are white or if they are tiled, painting the ceiling can change the look of your room and make it feel much cosier. Use a contrasting colour that is also featured in the bedroom to create a look that is mirrored in both places tying the whole interior together.

Create Space With Mirrors

If your looking to create the illusion of a larger space then mirrors are great to reflect the space around you. Hang a large mirror over the basin to enhance the natural light and contribute to a sense of spaciousness. An illuminated mirror with built in LED’s can create functionality as well as good lighting.
