Cosy Throws
If you want to make the most of your outdoor space ensure it’s useful on cooler days this is key to make sure your investment in the space is worth making. You’ll need to be cosier in the autumn and winter months but there’s no reason you can’t use your outdoor room all year round. Snuggle up with warm blankets or throws and gaze at the stars or warm your spirits with a roaring fire pit.
Essentials include warm cosy throws, fire pits and outdoor portable lighting making most outdoor spaces useful in most weathers.

Al Fresco Dining
Following the pandemic we’ve learnt to appreciate the simple pleasure of being outdoors. We’ve got a taste for it. Talking of taste, surprisingly outdoor dining, was searched for more in the winter months than in the summer. Giving weight to the trend that the British weather isn’t going to stop us from enjoying food al fresco. Even outdoor baths made an appearance in the search results all be it more ‘modest’ numbers.
Outdoor kitchens was one of the highest search terms 22,200 people in just one month in followed by dining outdoors which sits around 15,000 and you guessed it, outdoors bars 12,100 average rising to 22,000 in summer months.

We all seem to be wanting to be around entertaining with each other and these outside larger spaces are not simply just a BBQ being wheeled out on fair weather days. These are dedicated rooms with rugs, lighting and seating the whole works! Anything you do indoors be it work, rest or play can be done outdoors.
Outdoor Lighting

Do we want to escape the boundaries of indoor and become nomads for an evening, wondering the wilderness, making campfires and socialising with others. It seems we very much do!
Portable lighting with built in speakers is great for extra light whilst socialising outside in the evening as well as creating a nice atmosphere with music.

We expect the great outdoors lifestyle trend to continue gaining momentum and have seen a rise in interest for outdoor bathtubs, appear on the socials. Literally anything you do indoors can be done outdoors! Oh my, not for the shy and definitely not, if your outdoor space is limited to a balcony. Don’t worry if you don’t have acres of space there are plenty of amazing balconies. Lighting the balcony for magical effect, winterising it for colder days and injecting vibrancy in summer months with rugs and cushions makes the smallest of spaces pretty as a picture.

Hydroponic Gardening
We’ve talked lots about making a homely feel outdoors but indoor trends are greening up too.
Ironically gardening is being done indoors, hydroponic gardening, growing herbs on the windowsill rose by 350% year on year. Possibly we just want nature to surround us wherever we are, or maybe we are appreciating nature more and sustainability matters are well and truly at the fore front of our minds.

Create your own hydroponic garden in your homes with the Hydro Herb kits. Simply place on your windowsill and watch the fresh herbs grow within a couple of weeks. It’s the perfect way to surround yourself with a touch of nature if your home doesn’t have access to a garden.
