WHAT SIZE CEILING LIGHT SHOULD I CHOOSE?
A ceiling light is generally one of the main focal points in a room, so it is important not to use a light that is too small as this will distract from the look you are determining the correct size fitting.
For rooms smaller than 10 feet x 10 feet, use a 17" to 20" diameter light.
Room size: 12 feet x 12 feet. Use a 22" to 27" diameter light.
Room size: 14 feet x 14 feet. Use a 24" to 32" diameter.
For a room with other dimensions, simply add the dimensions together and the sum in the diameter needed.
If your room is particularly large/long you may have to consider using 2 ceiling lights to ensure the room looks balanced and that you achieve the level of light required for that room.
