As we gather speed through the twenties, we are seeing a new lighting trend emerging.
What’s it called, I hear you ask? Well, that’s a tricky one; because it’s all about you. Perhaps we should call it Your Trend?

We’re seeing this look everywhere. Calm interiors with a twist of the unexpected. Classic fashions punctuated with fun accessories.
It’s like we’re taking all the elements of the trends and interiors we like, but throwing the ideas into a big pot before we put together the favourite pieces.
We can see traces of magazine-style interiors lurking in the background of these new looks, but they are unapologetically telling the story of your home’s personality.
We seem less eager to impress and are less concerned with other’s opinions and judgement when it comes to our choices.
We’re making our own mind up of what goes together and selecting items based on their resonance with us, rather than their compatibility with a theme or concept.

We’re still houseproud, we like our homes to look good. The change is that we are evolving from following set trends hook, line and sinker. We’re now interpreting them and are choosing interiors that make us smile. That say we’re home and safe.
We’re loving elements of interior trends, such as New Country and Boho, but turning the dial to our own tune. It’s celebrating our home’s unique pulse and fingerprint; encapsulating our family lives.
Clean lined Scandinavian styles are still popular, but if you don’t want to hide all clutter away, this is OK! Choose arty, fun accessories to pepper your home with character.
Choosing sustainable items that resonate with your conscious is something we will only see grow in popularity. Our egos will take pride in explaining where something was sourced from and how it minimised the impact on the environment and people, rather than where we got it from.
Simple styles with quality and unashamed clarity will be the shift of the future. We’ll be relying on timeless styles that need a little update here and there rather than flash-in-the-pan latest fashions that look dated within the year.
We’ve all tried to copy trends, some successfully and some less so. Embrace your own creativity. If you like something, go for it! You can experiment with the final location over the coming years.
That’s the key. It’s an evolving look. Future proofing your home by allowing it to be YOUR design. Follow your own lighting trend! You won’t ever regret it.
