Deco style reimagined a Century later…
Some periods in time have such a drastic influence over taste and style that for decades to come, there’s still an appeal. Some are so iconic that they are worth revisiting. The Art Deco period is a case in point.
Today, we’ll look at why this decade resinates so much, that lighting of this period has emerged once more. The heroes trade mark looks from the era are still so pleasing to the eye.
Art Deco lights are bold, geometric designs that screamed modernity. That’s why the look is still modern for todays twenties.
Reviving our interest the lighting from yesteryear is one thing, but these light are not remade; they are re-invented.

By lighting revival, we are not talking about the reproduction of old heritage lighting heroes. That’s not what the new deco lighting looks are all about. The ‘new deco’ after 100 years delay is re-imagined. Creatively new deco is fresher sleeker more contemporary. It’s been refined and purposeful. Through a 2020’s lens, it has emerged (dare we say) even more beautiful. It’s Deco 2.1
Distilled are the stylish Odeon iconography. Which can be seen here in the abundance with geometric arches.



Brightened gold and brass teamed with clear glass textured shade. You’ll note the metal work is squared off which really does sharpen and make more contemporary. The whole vibe of deco is summed up here shown with the monochrome geometrics! Deco doesn’t necessarily need to be on the themes of the roaring 20’s but it was a fun era.
Here we see an over table version of the light whilst it’s impressive and very luxurious the look also pares with contemporary looks and various types of furnishings. I guess that’s what makes deco styles so during and appealing they just make everything a bit smarter and energised somehow.
Juxtapositions of curves and straight lines are another strong example of Deco style.
Reimagined, we see matte dark metals teamed with ethereal, pearl-like globes.

So many landmarks architecturally were born of the twenties, the hoover building of course! Lots of factors converged at this time. It was the 20’s known as the roaring twenties. A time symbology and iconography and it’s pleasing to see the trademark looks that made there way into buildings of the past. Are now here in our decor it’s so the time to get some style back in our lives. Don’t you think?
