Home sweet home. The phrase epitomises the sentiment we feel for our most precious space our abodes. Funnily enough, not every home smells sweet, the dog can bring its own odour that is less than perfumed. To be honest with lots of us spending more time in the home through the autumn and winter months the fondness for the home can wear off.

Working from home means you are often working, resting and playing within the same space and it gets a bit stale.
The sweet smell of success.
Have you heard of the sensory experience of scent scapes. No, well it was a new one for us too. But we’re loving the concept and it inspired us to source some new scents and smells that we know you’re going to adore.
When you smell a fragrance that’s citrus fresh it invigorates you whilst lavender scents are said to calm you. Scentscaping is when you position smells around the room to shift your mood as you transition from one space to the other. This is a fabulous concept steeped in evidence that smells evoke feelings. The smell of freshly cut grass has you thinking of childhood days, am I right?

If you’ve played rugby, you’ll know that the smell of deep heat or tiger balm may bring comfort. My yoga teacher had different scents she used for the Savasana the lie-down bit at the end where you rest after the hard work part. As this calming scent filled the room I found myself relaxing almost instantly. The smell instantly told my brain to calm.
Smells are sensory, it’s amazing what happens to your mental well-being when a scent makes you feel differently about your mood and emotions.
Natural fresh fragrances work really well in bathrooms and bring a spa feel. Bathtime rituals help you unwind and there’s a huge swathe of interest in #bathrituals on social media. This just goes to show everyone is feeling the same way, stressed! Resting isn’t as easy as some may think, it’s not simply having a five-minute sit-down. Relaxation is something to be attained, and takes some effort so why not shortcut the process by using rituals to get you to that happy place quickly?
Why not team a scented candle and reed diffuser combo in the bathroom? The reed diffuser keeps the bathroom smelling sweet and you can light a candle to further enhance the ambience. How much more bliss can it be, well a little? Maybe play some relaxing music and drift away. Here’s our bath time rituals playlist, go on your worth it.
Sensory experiences are on the up and investing in some self-love has never been so needed. It used to be you waited to get some nice bubble baths at Christmas. But now we are all happy to invest in some self-gifting. Treating yourself to a small luxury is the done thing- you deserve it.
For those working from home having energy smells at the desk area and softer calmer wafts of scent in the lounge is a wonderful idea helping separate work from relaxing time. My favourite scent of the moment is the whisky truffle reed diffusers and candles. It is delicate and sophisticated and smells nothing like booze, it’s bliss! I love the colours which are so on trend.
Bigger the better.
These mega-size diffusers will last so much longer typically a year. That’s good news as I hate it when your favourite runs out and you can’t get it again. Invest in a big bottle for yourself and maybe a little gift for a friend.
